TioTech’s technology is the next-generation anode-materials for Li-ion batteries which currently use LTO (lithium-titanate). As LTO, TitanBTM improves the charging, lifetime, safety and temperature robustness of Li-ion batteries. However; TitanBTM has a much higher capacity than LTO and is less resource demanding and more cost-effective as it does not contain lithium.

As LTO, TitanBTM improves the charging, lifetime, safety and temperature robustness of Li-ion batteries. Batteries with TitanBTM on the anode will have:

Long lifetime
The material`s stability and resistance towards expansion during charging/discharging result in batteries which last up to 10.000 cycles. Standard Li-ion batteries with graphite anodes last about 2500-3000 cycles.

Excellent safety
TitanBTM is a stable and non-flammable material, which improves the battery safety.

Short charging times
A Li-ion cell with TitanBTM can be charged to 80% within 6 minutes. In a standard Li-ion cell, the same operation would take 25-30 minutes.

Outstanding temperature robustness
Using TitanBTM, 70% charge capacity is achievable also at -20 °C.

Batteries with TitanBTM on the anode will have:

Unique materials

Titania’s potential as anode-material is proven academically, but no one has yet managed to scale up an economically feasible production method for a titania material optimised for Li-ion batteries.  Fortunately, this is TioTech’s speciality and we know how to do it!

Our titania is produced by proprietary methods, yielding unique and stable materials with structures ideal for efficient Li-ion insertion and extraction – giving short charging times and long lifetimes.
