Opening of TioTech`s industrial pilot in Bergen
Finally, we have the possibility to produce large batches of TitanB in-house!
“It`s a miracle!”, were the words TioTech`s Chairman of the Board, Leiv L. Nergaard, found best to describe the opening of our industrial pilot. And indeed, when scaling up, the path forward is not always easy, things take time, and budgets might shrink on the way. Fortunately, Eirik and Fredrik do not give up that easily, and have together with the engineering company COWI ensured the success of project “Industrial Pilot”.
A miracle or not – the fact that we now have a 1000 L reactor and processing equipment in-house marks an important step forward for TioTech. Moving on from being dependent on toll-manufacturing abroad to in-house production does not only mean we will have much better control of the production, but also allows optimization of the process and product at a batch scale relevant for cell producers. With a maximum production capacity of >100 tons TitanBTM per year, the industrial pilot allows us to deliver significant volumes of anode material. And the amount of titania which previously took us 30 days to produce in the labpilot, we can now make in one day!
